Information Governance
Information Governance (IG) combines Information Security, Corporate Governance and Business Continuity, and increasing legislative and regulatory requirements, into a single unified management framework for handling information in a confidential and secure manner. Information Governance may refer to data governance, information technology governance, information security governance or responsible information management.
Espion recognises that organisations need a strategic approach to managing the security of information assets. Espion understands the value of information to the business and the implications of a temporary or permanent loss. Applying the best practices of industry standards such as SWiFT 3000, EuroPriSE and Data Protection combined with many years of experience, Espion helps organisations ensure that information is managed legally, securely, efficiently and effectively.
Information Governance has five fundamental aims:
- To comply with all relevant legislative requirements thereby protecting individuals, and its employees
- To manage the creation, storage, movement and sharing of data in a secure and efficient manner
- To support the provision of high quality service delivery by promoting the effective and appropriate use of information
- To encourage staff and partners to work together, enabling more efficient use of shared data resources
- To develop support arrangements which provide staff with information and appropriate Information Governance policies and guidance.
- Providing training and support to enable staff to discharge their responsibilities under the various acts - all to consistently high standards
